This unit mainly discuss information about the two productive skills; speaking and writing. I learnt the differences between accuracy and fluency activities; accuracy activities are usually integrated in the study phase. These are controlled or teacher-guided activities used to practice correct usage of grammar and language, on the other hand, fluency activities are usually done in the activate phase. They provide opportunities for students to experiment and be creative with the language.
It also discussed the different speaking activities in the classroom, how to encourage the students to speak, techniques to encourage interaction and guidelines for a typical free/creative speaking activity lesson. And also the differences of written text and the factors that needs to be considered and incorporated, such as, the handwriting, spelling, punctuation and creative writing.
