This unit discussed the advantages and disadvantages of course books. This included factors to consider when selecting coursebooks. The uses, as well as pros and cons of using authentic materials in the classroom were discussed. The similar uses of created materials were also presented. While each of these teaching aides have uses in the classroom, the teachers must not become complacent or dependent upon these materials.
