Although there are 12 tenses in total. In this unit I have learnt of the four present tenses. The simple present- which is used to talk about habits, routines, facts, and general truths. The present continuous (sometimes referred to as the present progressive- which is used to talk about actions in progress at the time of speaking or around the time of speaking. The present perfect- which always relates the past to the present. The past can be either an unfinished or indefinite past. and the present perfect continuous tense- which also relates to past to the present but with more focus on the continuity or duration of the action. I have learnt that it is the structure of the of the sentence that dictates the tense. So to always look at the sentences form before looking at it's usage.
