Unit 16 focuses on grammar regarding conditionals as well as the tense and time phrase changes associated with reported speech. Conditionals are split up into Zero, First, Second, Third, and Mixed conditionals. These conditionals vary based primarily on their tense. Reported speech is when the direct speech of an individuals is reported after the fact by another or the same individual. In reported speech there is a pattern of tense and time phrase change which is employed to assure meaning is understood given the time frame of reference has been changed between the time of the direct speech and the time of its reporting.
