The Lesson 1 video showed exactly how not to teach a class. The teacher’s attitude reflected frustration at the students and was very belittling. I felt sorry for the girls that came in late due to what sounded like a traffic accident on the way to class. The teacher’s examples to elicit responses were vague and confusing. The students were very confused. The wrong answers were harshly shot down and the students were afraid to answer incorrectly. Their learning comprehension was lowered as a result and their answers would often swing wildly from the target answer. Then the teacher showed great disgust at the end of the class by storming out. The Lesson 2 video showed much better technique. The teacher was warm and kind and said nothing wheat the young man came into class late. He used very simple language to engage the students and during the study phase he drilled them at length to ensure they understood the information. I benefited from these videos because it let me see a real world, realtime example of a class setting and how an ESA system can be effectively used. The only difficulty I ran into was that this test asked questions concerning specific time stamped events. I only occasionally checked the time on the videos to get an idea of how long the experienced teacher allowed activities to run, but I did not memorize every moment in time stamp order so a few of the questions on this test where extremely difficult to answer and seemed to test my knowledge of time stamps instead of cirriculum content.
