This unit was about conditional sentences and reported speech. The conditional speech section covered the 4 types of conditionals (zero to third), and included an explanation of the mixed conditional.
The heavier information was in the latter part of this unit, when the book began explaining reported speech. Reported speech is confusing because it requires that one takes the direct sentence's wording, and change the tense into an appropriate tense. Since it requires students to take the direct sentence and change it, students must first understand the direct tense, and then remember which tense to change it into accordingly.
