This unit explained the parts of speech used in a sentences and gave examples of each. The unit was very informative since it not only included examples of the parts of speech, but also how the different parts of speech can be used in a lesson and in some cases even how the parts of speech can be taught in a classroom setting with an activity. Though I am a native speaker and I learned grammar in school, there were rules that this unit explained that I had forgotten because they were not reinforced for me during my school career. The parts of speech in a sentence are things that most native speakers understand how to use but don't necessarily know how to explain. In this unit, I was given the names and definitions of the different parts of speech that allowed me to have a better understanding of how I apply the rules in my daily life and more importantly, how I can accurately explain these rules and definitions to non-native speakers.
