I have learnt how important it is to teach pronunciation and phonology in the classroom. As it will really help students in using language everyday. To help them find the musicality of the language by teaching about intonation, stressed and unstressed structure and phonology. Specifically the International Phonemic Alphabet. As this alphabet can allow students to work out new words from dictionaries for themselves and, in the classroom, the students can think outside the box. Stop thinking about the spelling of words and think only about the actual sound of the words. We teach about voiced and unvoiced consonants, articulation, place of articulation, manner of articulation and how these are put together to form the sounds.
