In this lesson we discussed the different sounds in English, and ways we pronounce them. I found the phonemic alphabet particularily interesting and somewhat alien. During the test, it was fun trying to decipher the sentences, because it took me a little time on a couple of the questions. I was pronouncing the phonemic letters correctly, however I was reading them aloud too slowly for my mind to register what significance the letters made in the words and sentence. It wasn't until pronouncing them faster that I could hear the sentence in the letters and I figured it out. I thought that was rather cool. The unit also gave a description on where/how we make the sounds we do when speaking.
