This is the 2nd of three units on Grammar. The first was on the Present tense and this one is on the Past tense; the future tense follows. This unit is similar in structure as the structure of the Present tense. There are a couple of differences. This section while discussing the four different forms: Past Simple; Past Continuous; Past Perfect; and Past Perfect Continuous - they are rather ambiguous in that the definitions and the examples do not match. Looking over my notes for the test, I had difficulty determining the, "past actions" of for example Past Perfect and Past Perfect continuous. The examples: Affirmative, Negation and Question are easy to understand- the use determination of when an action is in progress, a completed action, or an action completed before another past action, left me muddled - and frustrated...
In teaching and/or correcting student use of each the section on possible mistakes/errors were helpful.
