The unit mentions that the future tense is one of the most challenging tenses to learn. The unit certainly made it easy and logical to grasp. The form breakdown of the tenses helped tremendously, but it was the explanations and sample sentences that really helped. At first I was confused by all the different forms of “predictions” that the future simple (predict without any real evidence), future continuous (predict what’s happening now), and the ‘going to’ future tense (prediction because of evidence you have now) really helped. I liked the ideas of how to teach the various tenses. I’m always drawn to the journaling ideas since it makes the lesson material very personal. I liked the idea of what would your perfect home be like. Everyone wants a safe and cool home. The task sheet questions that asked to come up with ways to compare the various tenses that are only subtly different were extremely helpful. All this brainstorming on the front end will really help when the need to prepare this material arises.
