In this unit I learnt about pronunciation tends to concentrate on individual sounds which is important to teach and phonetics is rarely taught at schools. I learnt phonetics much later in my phonics teacher training course. I learnt about intonation which is a variation in volume, pitch, throughout an entire sentence. It carries the message of a sentence. Rise Fall indicates indicates that we have finished speaking and we do not need an immediate response and Fall rice indicates surprise, disagreement and that the speaker wants a response in return. Flat indicates there is no interest at all. These are good examples to teach other students. They can then differentiate what each tone, volume and pitch refer to and how they are suppose to respond. In addition, the placement of articulation is important and a good way of teaching.
