This unit explains about the present tenses. How they are formed and when they are used.
The simple present is formed with the base form of the verb and it is used mainly for routine actions or stating facts.
Present progressive/continuous is formed with to be + the ing-form. It's most common use is for stating actions that are happening at the moment of speaking.
Present perfect is formed with have/has + past participle. This tense is used for actions that have begun in the past and are still continuing or are having consequences for the present.
Present perfect continuous is formed with have/has + been + ing-form. It is used for incomplete or ongoing activities with a focus on the duration and process.
