Teaching the past tenses requires a thorough understanding of the different structures in affirmative, negative and questions as well as the respective usage of each tense. I thought it would be helpful to lay/draw a timeline when teaching the difference between tenses, at it can get quite confusing for students, especially for the perfect tenses. Practice and lots of talking of course contribute most, but a sound grammatical base is key for progress. I found the activate stage teaching ideas quite helpful and cannot wait to put them into practice!
