This unit was tough. I found the part about sound linking/joining to be most helpful because I find that I speak most naturally by joining words together via sound linking, changing, adding lettering, and dropping sound. I have been wondering the best ways to handle this when teaching and am glad that a unit addressed it. The parts about the phonetic alphabet were interesting and fun(I like puzzles) but in the case of my future position, were less helpful. I think that since I will basically be a substitute, I would not focus on teaching phonetic spelling unless specifically told to do so.
