Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit encompassed information on teaching new language. It focused on three main areas: teaching vocabulary; teaching grammatical structures; and teaching language functions. Each sub-chapter gave examples, also, of which teaching approaches work best for that particular aspect of language. The chapter reiterated a lot of the material that had been given to us in chapter 3: namely, theories, methods, and techniques with emphasis on the ESA method and its take-offs. These included the boomerang method and the patchwork method. It gave suggestions as to which methods/ approaches work best for the teaching of vocabulary, grammar and functions. Some of the strict usages of items -- such as using brochures [given in the test above] -- seem a bit stilted and arbitrary to me: I can envision scenarios where I could use a brochure and elicitation in parts of my lesson that are not necessarily in the first phase [E] of that lesson. Similarly, although the above test puts 'role-play' only into the category of the 'activate' stage, there are exercises and possibly also allusions [ in the older videos and past units] to the ability to use role-play not just as an activate stage tool. All in all, a pretty straight forward chapter and again, the videos are very helpful in seeing all the material put into real teaching contexts with the corresponding realia. Thank you!
