There are so many different approaches and methods to be used in teaching the English language and it is difficult to decide which is the best approach to use. There are so many factors that as a teacher I need to take into consideration. I need my students to be motivated at all times, be able to expose to the language and let them have the opportunity to use it. As their teacher, I have to make sure that all these factors come into play in my classroom. I must involve my students in the lesson as much as possible and give them opportunity to speak. I also learned the importance of Engage-Study-Activate (ESA) inside the classroom. It is the most effective and logical of all the methodologies to apply in the classroom. I've also learned that correction must be done during the study phase and during the engage and activate learners must communicate at all times.
