Unit 12 was about the two productive skills reading and writing. It talked about the difference of teaching accuracy and fluency; accuracy been a more teacher-controlled lesson focusing on making sure the students are reproducing the language correctly, and fluency which is a looser lesson with students trying a new language and been creative with a focus on effectiveness and flow over accuracy. The unit also highlighted the important factors when teaching writing skills, these been handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation. The unit was helpful for me learning how to apply these lessons to the classroom by providing guidelines of a creative speaking class and typical creative writing class.
