The production of both skills must be accurate but speaking is lurching toward fluency more than accuracy and writing is more concerned with grammar, spelling, layout and punctuation.
A teacher must try to increase STT by encouraging students to participate in the course via providing subjects tailored to students' interest, visual aids,pair works, group work and so on and so forth. Regardless of skill, a teacher can always increase involvement of students by making the lesson and activities purposeful in a way that students understand this purposefulness of the course.
