This unit covered the four past tenses. These tenses include: past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. The past simple verb form is used when speaking about actions completed at a definite time in the past while the past continuous form is used when speaking about interrupted past actions or to express an action, which began before a specific time and most likely continued after it. The last form is the present perfect - this form is used when speaking about actions that occured before other actions in the past.
