Intonation carries the message in the sentence. It makes the sentence a question, stating a fact, agreeing or disagreeing. And the place of articulation depends on how you use these parts and where you place them and how your breath is used. Fricative words sounds like they create friction as you say the letter like z and v. And how wide you open you mouth changes the sounds of the words. Plosive sounds wind up in your mouth like holding the breath and releasing.
