Have learnt the seven most common future tenses used, their grammatical form and their usages. The Future simple:subject+ will+go(verb). Usages: future facts and certainties. Promises. Predictions based on no evidence. Assumptions/ speculations. Spontaneous decisions and threats. Future Continuous: Subject+ will+ be+ verb+ ing. Usages: To say something will be in progress at a particular time in the future. To 'predict the present' to say what we think or guess might be happening now. For polite enquiries referring to other people's plans, but not influence the listeners intentions. To refer to future events which are fixed or decided, without suggesting personal intention. Future Perfect: will+ have+ past participle. Used to say that something will have been done, completed or achieved by a certain time in the future. Future Perfect Continuous: Will+ have+ been+ verb+ ing. How long an action had been taking place up until a certain point in the future. 'Going to' future + infinitive: Verb 'to be'(in present form am/is/are)+ going to+ base form of verb.Used for: Intentions, predictions based on present evidence, plans (decisions made before speaking) Present Simple: Subject+ verb+ object. Talking about things in the future whilst using present simple tense. Used to suggest a more formal situation. For timetables and schedules. To suggest a more impersonal tone (often implying an outside compulsion) Present Continuous: Verb+ ing. Used for future definite arrangements. For decisions and plans without a timeframe.
