The use of coursebooks and lesson materials can be a huge advantage in the teaching of English to new students of the language. Psychologically, coursebooks give students a sense that they are actively engaged with the material they are learning and feel challenged to want to put into practice their skills by deploying them in solving the various created materials used or in responding to authentic material as well. They also help to "map out" the progress of language in a student's mind by allowing them to feel a sense of accomplishment once a certain engaging task has been completed.
