This section provides good practical ideas and methods of presenting and teaching different language points. The course outlines activities and guidelines to best suit the age group of young learners and this is very beneficial as this has helped me better structure my lessons.The resources of where to find additional materials, ideas and games was very beneficial and I have used some of these in my classes.
It is important to have the language points first clearly identified and then adapt the activity to the language point, instead of the other way around.
The different activities are used at different stages of the ESA method, but each can be adapted to meet the needs of more than one stage or portion of the lesson.
It is very important to be well prepared and have all the tools, materials and rules ready. It was also clearly stated that having appropriate classroom management to calm the class may be necessary. The teacher should also have a clear understanding of how the activity is run from start to end.
