As this unit focused on the receptive skills, it gave me the opportunity to have a thorough and concrete look (through the example of a patchwork lesson for instance) on the different methods through which a teacher could efficiently activate them. The main point here is to give the students a good balance between reading and listening as they indeed are equally important. I am very much looking forward to the unit that will focus on the productive skills, as they are in my sole opinion somewhat more important and useful than the receptive skills. Obviously these four skills are undoubtedly linked to each other and none of them should be neglected. However, I am firmly convinced that the ability to communicate (thus the use of productive skills) will help a student a lot more in his or her learning journey.
