This unit explains the importance of creating a strong lesson plan and a working document that can be easily followed by any ESL teacher. This can be done by collecting the following information: teacher name, class level, place, date and time, number of students expected, aids you will be using, learning objective, teacher aims, procedure, phase, timing, interaction, anticipated problems for teachers and students, and the best solutions for these.
This information gives us the tools to create strong lesson plans that are clear as well as flexible. Further to this it gives us an understanding of the need to monitor and record lessons to ensure the continuous improvement of both teachers and students.
My main takeaways from this unit are the importance of continuous improvement, and that organisation is key in creating clear yet flexible lesson plans.
