Again, I appreciate the way this unit is designed. I like how it give specific examples for each of the ESA structures. The ESA structures give me a good framework for my lessons now. In the past, when teaching native English learners, I didn't use such a specific framework. I find that these ESA structures are helpful to me. I also agree with the selection of vocabulary and grammar functions. I personally find that it's easier to select these items when teaching younger children versus older children. It's simple to select high-frequency words for primary students, but more challenging with intermediate students because I want to make sure they are learning words that are helpful as far as frequency and coverage.
