The Unit on theories, methods, and techniques is a valuable resource for ESL teachers as it prepares them to adapt their teaching style to different methods used by different language schools. It is important for a teacher to be adaptable and to have knowledge of the different theories, methods and techniques they might come across in future teaching positions. In general, it also helps to know the strengths and weaknesses of each theory in order to assess which technique will be more appropriate to achieve optimal learning in the classroom.
