A teacher can greatly influence a class and the performance of the class. A teacher should be able to 'listen' to his/her students and try to create a learning structure that is appropriate for the particular learning group. Also it is important to keep in mind who you are teaching and where (eg country, culture etc), to understand those particularities so to be able to better communicate the concepts with the students. ONe should also keep in mind that even in the same class, needs of the students may differ. It is important to try and assist as much as possible and keep the students motivated. Students of any age are able to 'feel' if a teacher is actually enjoying their role, so if you do not like what you are doing, you are better off not doing it at all.
