There are 3 present tenses; present simple, present continuous/progressive, and present perfect tense. Each have their own uses as conditions in which they are use. What they share in common is that they all relate to the present or "now". Present continuous/progressive tenses is just adding "ing" to indicate that it is happening in that moment. Present perfect tense is relating to something that has already happened to now. Present simple does not really relate to the past or future but something that is constant, such as facts, routines, instructions, and etc. There are many activities that can be used to practice present tense. Explaining perfect tense can be quite challenging, but with these activities it can be done.
