Unit 20 focuses on some various topics regarding troubleshooting when students are having difficulties. It begins by covering good ways to go about a first day in class such that a teacher may build rapport with the students and identify their needs. This ties into "warmers" which are warm-up activities which can open a group of students up to the teacher and the course material. The unit then shifts focus onto problems with class constitution, such as large class sizes and students of different language abilities being in the same class. Following this, topics regarding problematic language behavior such as students overusing their native language in class and students being reluctant to participate in class are covered. Finally, problems with comprehending listening texts are discussed as problems with listening activities are quite ubiquitous through all language learners.
