This was a rather lengthy unit, that dueled on the various methodologies of teaching a language that is different from one's mother tongue.
I learned here that, the strengths of different methods of teaching English as a foreign language, depends largely on the learner's stage. Also, some methods like the Presentation, Practice, and Production, will be more effective in teaching at low levels, meanwhile, at an advanced level, more detailed demonstration and the use of the language are expected of the students.
In conclusion, I learned from this unit that in teaching the English language much of the language should be elicited from the students and corrections should be minimal and generally, the corrections should not be at the Engage stage of the lesson.
