Center Line, Michigan TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
Modal and phrasal verbs are so common in English expressions, so learners have to understand what they are and how they work. An observation I made during this lesson is that while they can be a bit more complex, we native English speakers use them quite often. For example, the workplace would be very confusing without an understanding of phrasal verbs. Passive and active voice are important to know for improved writing skills, and the three types of clauses help us understand sentences better. The three types are independent, dependent, and relative. Relative clauses can be defining or non-defining (respectively meaning that they are either essential or nonessential to the sentence). Phrasal verbs are verbs that attach a couple extra words in order to make sense, and there are three types of those, including intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable.
