This unit gave an interesting and enriching insight into the pros and cons of using course books and relevant examples that could be used for a teacher who lacks a certain artistic vibe like me. According to me, the different materials used throughout the lesson will most likely be at their maximum effectiveness when the teacher is capable of balancing all the reviewed options that this unit put forward (that is to say authentic and created materials). If a teacher only relies on a course book, the lesson might quickly become too predictable and annoying, whereas too much creativity and unexpected materials might be a bit too confusing for the students, and probably too challenging for the teacher.
