The last unit in the course was on common problems that teachers run into their first time teaching a new class. Often times they will have a new class, with which they will have to establish rapport with their students during their first class, so that students can feel at ease in a new setting. This can be achieved through all-inclusive participation game that informs students about the teacher and the teacher about the students.
Another common problem that teachers find is that they have larger sized classes, which can make the class difficult to control. It can also limit the type of activities that can occur in class, due to space constraint and noise.
Additionally, some students may not be as confident in the classroom, and show signs of reluctance in participating. Teachers should prepare for this, and encourage them to participate by assigning more group projects, doing role-play exercises, and using a recorder to let them hear themselves.
