In this unit we have learned about different theories, methodologies and techniques for teaching English as a second language. Different methods might be used according to the culture and costumes of the EFL students, as well as the level and age of the students.
The most recent approach used for teaching EFL is 'ESA'. 'ESA' stands for 'Engage, Study and Activate'. These are the three main parts of the EFL lesson.
The order in which they appear in the lesson may vary and even repeat itself, but the lesson must start with an Engage and finish with Activate part of the lesson. This approach ensures that the students are motivated, exposed to the language and are involved in the learning process.
