This unit included information on modal auxiliary verbs, the passive voice, and phrasal verbs. Modal auxiliary verbs are difficult - essentially, these are words in English, such as must, could, and should, that add meaning/context to the main verb. These modal verbs can be used to express obligation, degree of certainty, and ability, among other ideas. The passive voice is important to study because it is a method of expression in English that puts the emphasis of the sentence on the subject rather than the object. I found the section on phrasal verbs to be quite difficult. Phrasal verbs are multi-word verbs that can contain particles and work together as a single idea. I think phrasal verbs might be a difficult topic for my future students, so I will have to think of ways to make the topic easier for them to understand.
