In unit 1 i have learned what qualities a good teacher as well as a good learner should posses. I have also learnt how to distinguish between the different language levels and how teaching and activities should be appropriately applied to the levels. The potential mistakes that a teacher could make and how to avoid them have been mentioned. For example, when a teacher acts as a resource or facilitator, he or she should avoid the temptation of spoon-feeding a student and rather act as a guidance. The differences between young and adult students were mentioned as well. Lastly, the reasons why students decide to study english as a second language.
