In this unit, receptive and productive skills were taught. In receptive skills, such as reading and listening it is is important to note that there are different levels. In reading there are different types that one does, such as skimming, scanning, prediction and so forth. As teachers we must become aware of how to implement these tactics for students. Since this is grammar heavy, in order to avoid severe confusion we must be careful with our texts and pre-teach what we want students to know before introducing the language. It's also important to note that in the unit it did specify that we must engage students. This being to focus on topics that can intrigue students and get them to participate, otherwise, students will be silent and wary of the lesson. So, I learned that this particular lesson has to be well organized and requires the teacher t be mindful of texts and they way it is introduced otherwise a lot of confusion can occur.
