This unit gave an overview of the productive language skills, which are writing and speaking. On the speaking side, my key takeaway was the differentiation between accuracy and fluency. Both skills are important, and must be cultivated to an equal extent - as a teacher, it is important to understand when the primary goal of an activity is fluency vs. accuracy. The writing portion of the lesson had a number of good tips. For instance, as a native English speaker, I'd never really considered how important penmanship is, but this skill is crucial, especially to learners that use a different writing system in their native language.
