This unit was basically reflecting, how effective a classroom instruction can be based on the effectiveness of a teacher.
The relationship between the students plays a major role in the learning process. The first ESA lesson had many drawbacks: students look puzzled many times as to what exactly the teacher was talking about.The introduction of the lesson was not appropriate.Teacher was aware that students look puzzeled but not much was done to set the class tone properly.
Teacher should have re-inforced the main concept again and introduced the topic in a different style.
At the end of the first lesson,students were looking at each other as to "what exactly they are supposed to do with the given worksheet" as the instructions were not clear.
Second ESA-lesson: the second lesson was more effective, because the teacher changed his teaching style: as he probably realized that he was teaching low-level students.
The introduction of the lesson was very impressive because teacher introduced himself and asked the names of the students to develop a rapport with the students.
Introduction of the main topic was effective,as the topic of animals was very simple.The second part of the engage phase-giving a handout and asking students to write down the vocabulary for the names of animals was very effective way of transitioning into the activity phase.
Overall in conclusion: an effective classroom instruction is based on well prepared lesson plan and organization based on the needs of the students.
