I learned about modals, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice in this unit. Out of the three, I felt that I had the hardest time with phrasal verbs. I particularly had to think carefully about the differences between the three types. This unit was especially interesting because it defined the smaller nuances of the English language. For example, I have never really thought about the degree of certainties or the formalities of modal verbs. I think it was particularly helpful to see that chart and have a more defined understanding of each of the modal verbs.
