Along with discipline, lesson-planning is what makes me most nervous as a trainee teacher. I don't know the first thing about creating lesson plans for students of different levels, let alone a classroom of students of different levels. A syllabus would be helpful in seeing what goals a school or business sets for its students.
The main take-aways from this unit seem to be remain flexible because you're going to have to adapt to unanticipated student errors/misunderstandings and unfamiliar time expectations. Lesson-planning for times when the teacher is absent so another can take over is an obvious need in hindsight, but it also emphasizes the learner.
The format provided is helpful, and I imagine I'll use it for early lesson planning.
