This unit was a thorough completion of the tenses. Some of my Japanese friends have said that they don't have a future tense, but use the present to express the future like 'going to' and present continuous covered in the unit. I imagine it will be tricky to teach especially when it must seem unnecessary to have so many tenses and usages when the present is sufficient in their language.
I like the teaching ideas of predicting future changes in the town, community, sport, country because I think students will be able to adapt that to their interests. I also like the "date from hell" game idea wherein two students practice inviting and excuse-making using the future continuous.
The invention of a future career or predicting one's own achievements could be a good, introspective and goal-oriented way of teaching the future perfect.
