This was a tricky lesson. As a native speaker of English the language skills are intuitive but the language systems are less so. I had to slow down significantly and think about each sentence above very carefully. I anticipate it will be difficult to explain the usages of present perfect and present perfect continuous. I think emphasizing flexibility will be important. For instance, a student could say "I have lived in Paris for 5 years" or "I have been living in Paris for 5 years." That is, it is important to elicit understanding of the difference in the Study phase of lessons, but in the Activate phase either usage can be equally correct.
This lesson seems more important for higher level learners or those that predominantly read and write. Maybe for conversational English and fluency in beginners it is less imperative to learn. As I write I think "this is not a good attitude for a teacher," so maybe I'm not yet confident with the material. More review!
