I have really enjoyed this unit of work on speaking and writing and I can appreciate that writing is often a skill that is forgotten or not concentrated on. When teaching English, the focus is often on the spoken word, but I am also able to appreciate the need for teaching writing skills. During this unit I also appreciated the instruction that both fluency and accuracy have a place through the lesson and the goal of each phase needs to be kept in mind.
