In this chapter, we have seen the two receptive skills: reading and listening. The reasons and motivates for those receptive skills can be divided to purpose or entertainment. Then, we have learnt that readers and listeners use different skills to analyze and understand well the content of a topic such as predictive skills, scanning, skimming, details information and deduction. After, we have seen the importance of choosing the topics, creating interest, the tasks and how to make a right Engage Study Activate straight arrow.
In my opinion, the last part with the Engage Study Activate straight arrow was very interesting. It shows to the learners the correct methodology to use through a listening or reading course.
