Unit 12 is teaching productive skills. Productive skills are speaking and writing. The unit focuses on the importance of accuracy and fluency but also the difference between them. The Study phase should focus on accuracry and the Activate should focus on the fluency. the unit gives examples of different speaking actvities: controlled actvities, guided actvities and creative communication. The unit helps teachers with ways to encourage students to speak with different techniques and guidelines. Writing is broken down into different headings: Handwriting, creative writing, spelling, layout and punctuation. this unit is also very helpful as it lists many games and where to find different games to help make teaching more fun and effective.
