As indicated by the title, this section discusses the system of past tenses, mirroring the unit on present tenses, delving into the past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. It presents forms, usages, exceptions, and methods to help students understand the material.
As with the section on present tenses, this unit was very helpful in terms of review. When learning a first language, the brain processes the patterns and intricacies of that language in a way that the individual is not conscious of. It is essential that as a teacher of a second language, I become fully aware of those intricacies or I will not be able to explain in a meaningful way, how to navigate this language to student.
