Unit 11 is teaching receptive skills. The receptive skills are reading and listening. There are different reasons why people read and/or listen; for a purpose such as reading instuctions of a new game. The other reason is for entertainment such as reading a novel they enjoy. Sometimes we read and listen for both purposes at the same time. There are a number of skills we use for reading and listening such as predictive skills, scanning, skimming, detailed infomation and deduction from context.
